Hi! My name is Dani Knapstad and I have an appetite for life and all things food. I discovered my passion for food early on and had decided at the very mature age of five I was going to become a chef when I grew up. I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest cooking at home or over a campfire and somehow managing to turn every school project into one about food. When the time came I went to culinary school on the east coast. After four years in Rhode Island,  I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales University. My family then spent a fabulous six weeks road tripping across the United States exploring and trying out new foods at every stop back to my beloved Washington. I currently spend my days in Seattle working at a culinary training program for people experiencing homelessness and barriers to employment where I get to share what I have been lucky enough to learn through my years in the industry and during my travels thus far.

I have always been fascinated by cooking and food and how it brings people together. Food is love. Food makes us family. Food connects us all. And I want to learn more, see more and of course, eat more! So here we go!
